Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kamaria
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say my mom and my grandma.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To do what I love to do and find joy in that, not just doing something because it might bring external things other than your joy and happiness.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have patience. Find a good balance between work, school, and me time, especially as a young ambitious Black woman in remote healthcare work.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Accessibility is the biggest challenge because the field requires a combination of three different skills that most people only have one of. Post-COVID hiring processes have made it even more challenging with new rules and regulations.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity. I am a very spiritual person with an old soul. Staying true to myself, being open-minded, and having integrity because of my mom.
