About Kamryn
Kamryn Karr serves as Executive Assistant to the Senate Chief of Staff and General Counsel at the Ohio Statehouse. In this role she handles event planning, scheduling, and a variety of administrative tasks. She earned dual bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Political Science from Ohio State University with a Spanish minor, graduating magna cum laude. She also received study abroad honors after spending two months in Spain, earned the Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship, and made the Dean's List multiple times. Prior experience includes serving as a legislative page through the Ohio Senate Page program during her final semester of college and working on staff at the university's student-run newspaper throughout her junior year. Karr attributes her success to a strong work ethic modeled by her father, maintaining a personable approach with everyone, and drawing on her faith and family.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being hardworking like my dad, staying personable with everyone, and relying on my faith and family, especially after just graduating college.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to always be the best at what you do and stand out from others, modeled by my hardworking blue-collar dad.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering this male-predominant field to stay humble, accept advice from experienced people, know that you are capable and intelligent, and work as hard as you can to prove yourself and establish yourself toward your future goals.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are being personable with everyone regardless of their role, being hardworking, and centering my faith and family.
