Her Story

About Kanika

I have been in the food and wellness industry for over 9 to 10 years, and I've been in my current position as manager of analytics, e-commerce and digital growth for about 2 to 3 years. In this role, I focus on the company's P&L and ROI, working on the e-commerce side to develop features and functionalities that drive impact. I concentrate on customer experience, identifying gaps and fixes, and working to improve and enhance the experience for better conversions and ROI for the organization. My most notable professional achievements include my proactiveness, taking the lead head on, being a strong team player and communicator. Working in a techno-functional business space, I translate interactions with other teams and customers into simplified versions to communicate and explain gaps. I work alongside everyone in a very dynamic and ever-changing organization. Beyond my corporate role, I am also an entrepreneur. I have my own herbal and organic hair health business, Let's Shine Wellness, with a manufacturing unit in Houston, and I currently ship all over the U.S. I formulate all these products focusing on scalp health and hair health. I am a huge proponent of organic and herbal products and recommend anyone to stay away from chemicals because they are slow poison and disrupt people's hormones and health levels. I am also a licensed financial advisor, helping people understand tax-free growth and wealth accumulation, working with CPAs, tax advisors, businesses, physicians, individuals, and families. I have three master's degrees: one in computer applications, one in analytics (MS in Analytics), and one in digital growth, growth strategies and digital marketing from Wharton, which was an Executive Masters I completed while working. With AI coming in, I am still learning and growing because education is ever-growing and an ongoing process.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kanika

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say, stay hungry, stay foolish. I have this very deep urge to keep learning new things. I am a visionary, I am a workaholic. I love working, that's my space. Purpose, basically, live with purpose and energy and intent is where my passion comes from. I always tell my kid and my friends and family also, it has to be, if you are living, it has to be with a purpose, with some intent, not just mindlessly. Be mindful. So I think that's my mantra, overall, and that's what I'm living by.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One piece of advice that stood out to me is, do you want to live life, or do you want to win at it? I think that has more deeper meaning than what the words convey. Just being content is something that's very different for everyone. We should be content, but then that should not be it. It's not just about being satisfied with where you are, but continuing to push forward and strive for more.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I'll say find your why. If you're working on something, find your why. If we have a why, you are unstoppable. We gotta stop complaining, find our why, work on it. We are the ones who stop ourselves from, you know, limit ourselves from winning. So, don't put that gap. There is no cap in reality. Don't limit yourself because the only thing holding you back is yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities are sky's the limit. There's a lot of opportunity, there's never a shortage of opportunities, just how we look at it. No work is big or small. About challenges, I will say that we have to be a good storyteller if we want to sell anything or communicate anything to anyone. It's about the story. Everyone has a need for financial well-being, health, overall health, hair wellness. It's about how I'm conveying my ideas, how I'm resonating with them. It also comes from how well you are listening to them and connecting to the other person, be it B2B or B2C, regardless. So, communication is key. If we are able to communicate and translate the requirement and use case from each other, I think that's the most challenging piece, otherwise it's cake walk.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Ethics, discipline, consistency, honesty, and integrity are very important for me and for the people I work with. I really value these a lot. These are the core principles that guide both my professional work and my personal relationships.
