Her Story
About Kanika
I've been in consulting for about 6 years plus. Traditionally I've done advisory and consulting roles across different organizations. I started my career with EY in their finance advisory practice back in 2018 after getting my master's in quantitative finance. I loved doing generic finance advisory cases and had the opportunity to start an education program from scratch in EY. I then moved into a boutique consulting firm called Samagra Governance where I executed education-centric initiatives for a state in northern India impacting around 14,000 schools and 2.5 million students and teachers. The scale of that impact felt life-changing. I got my MBA from Michigan and joined BCG. At BCG I've had the chance to do growth strategy, tech transformations, and sit with CXOs to talk through company direction and strategy. Now I'm thinking about leaning more into my builder muscle, especially with AI and wellness tech.

Ten minutes with Kanika
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success is multifaceted. Moving through different phases of life requires finding the right people and opportunities while being receptive to receive those. I attribute a lot of my movement and choices to the things that came my way or the people who met me and decided to believe in me and give me that chance. I've also been very open to receiving and saying yes to whatever comes.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Figuring out what it means to lead and exist in the corporate world as a woman and finding that voice can be a very individualistic experience. It's important to think about your life from your individual perspective and bring the values that you care about and think are important for you to emulate as you move forward. Really double down on that and see how you execute because that's something that allows you to be true to yourself while also helping you move forward and succeed.
