Her Story
About Kanishka
I've been working for about 3 to 4 years in my field. I started doing internships back in 21 for marketing, and then I worked for around 2 to 1.5 years full-time with an agency, a performance marketing agency, where I was helping brands market on the e-commerce platforms, and also navigate the new quick commerce space. In my current role, that has been about 4 to 5 months, I do a mix of operations and marketing, answering calls and emails, analyzing web analytics, drafting student engagement mails, designing fact sheets, and publishing decks for webinars.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kanishka
01What do you attribute your success to?
My parents, because if it was not for them, I would not be here. Whatever professional and personal values that have been instilled into me, the hunger or the drive to achieve things, it's all to them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always be your authentic self. Whenever we interview, we try to portray somebody else, but sometimes it's just the authentic self that gets you the opportunity.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never give up, even if you fail, because one failure makes you closer to that win.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Biggest challenge is the current market situation with mergers and restructuring in agencies due to economic and legal environment. Biggest opportunity is digital marketing, which boomed during COVID and continues to grow with new platforms.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Optimism, even on bad days. Keep going if it's something you love, because there won't be any hurdle.
