Kara Hunkele

I am a designer, content strategist, and visual storyteller passionate about using creativity to support meaningful causes. Currently, I serve as Senior Designer & Content Strategist at Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, where I lead branding, digital campaigns, and content strategy initiatives that help amplify our mission and community impact.

My background spans nonprofit marketing, print production, digital design, and fine art. I’ve worked across social media management, email marketing, website content, publication layout, and event promotion—helping organizations increase engagement, visibility, and revenue.

Beyond my full-time role, I operate as a freelance commissioned painter under Art By Kara, completing over 100 custom works. This artistic practice continuously fuels my creativity and informs my design work with a strong foundation in composition, color theory, and storytelling.
