Her Story
About Kara
Kara Weller serves as an executive assistant in her family's manufacturing, welding, and construction business, a role she began in 2017 after her father offered her the position. She provides support through sales and networking efforts and handles shipping and receiving along with welding and fabrication tasks. Weller is actively engaged with the Home Builders Association, where she serves as events committee chair and received Volunteer of the Year in 2022. She is also involved with the Home Builders Association of Lincoln and the National Home Builders Association. Prior to her current role, she attended Rhema Bible College but did not complete her studies following a car accident. Weller values faith, love, and kindness in both her work and personal life and advises young women entering the industry to ask many questions and listen well.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to keep going and keep moving forward. My dad has said that to me for a really long time.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Ask a lot of questions, and listen well.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges right now are the economy and prices raising on everything, which affects steel and material costs for builders.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith and love and kindness are most important. The world needs a lot more of all those things.
