About Karina
My career path has been very diverse. I was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years before working at the Department of Commerce conducting interviews and business development on their American Housing Community Survey. I then worked at Amazon as a learning ambassador helping with orientation and onboarding, and later in their safety department conducting audits and training. While there I pursued a human resource management certificate full-time. After not getting HR callbacks at Amazon I moved to HireQuest Direct a staffing company for construction sites doing operations payroll and HR tasks then transitioned to a sales business development role which I loved. From there I went to Mazzella in the lifting industry growing their Arizona market in crane and rigging and most recently was at a scaffolding company in commercial business development until last week when we parted ways due to budget issues.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family especially my husband who has been very encouraging and supportive of my career despite the long hours and to my group of colleagues in the industry about five of us business developers who are supportive and we learn from each other's experiences.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The greatest challenge is working in a male-dominant space where it is sometimes hard to find a woman mentor and get advice from other women in the industry as experiences differ and you are often the only woman on the sales team or in the building.
