About Karishma
I am a systems engineering researcher and educator with a focus on dynamic systems, control engineering, and simulation-based modeling.
I currently serve as an Assistant Professor at University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Engineering and Computer Science, where my work involves teaching, mentoring students, and conducting research in systems engineering and complex dynamic systems.
Prior to joining Michigan–Dearborn, I worked at Arizona State University as both a Postdoctoral Scholar and Graduate Research Associate, where I conducted research in systems engineering and completed my PhD in Systems Engineering. My research focuses on modeling and simulation techniques that help understand and optimize complex engineered systems.
During my doctoral studies, I also had the opportunity to intern at Nokia Bell Labs, gaining valuable industry research experience.
Earlier in my career, I worked as an Engineer at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India and as a Project Associate at Indian Institute of Science, contributing to engineering and research projects in control systems and simulation.
I hold an MTech in Control Systems Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a PhD in Systems Engineering from Arizona State University.
My interests include dynamic simulation, complex systems modeling, and advancing engineering education through research and collaboration.
