About Karla
Karla Torres serves as a store manager at Burlington in Miami, Florida, a role she has held for three years. With 28 years of experience in retail, she began her career as a cashier at Winn-Dixie, where she worked for nine years while taking college courses in psychology. She advanced through various positions at Winn-Dixie before spending 11 years at Platinum City, ultimately reaching store manager. Torres is known for her positive approach and commitment to mentoring other store managers, and she is currently pursuing additional certifications in district management or human resources. Outside of her professional role, she founded the nonprofit organization Habra God is real to support her community.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
When women we get together, we have a big voice, we can empower each other. Why not women cheer up each other, and help each other, and lift it up. We are strong. It's just that we need to reunite and empower ourselves.
