Her Interview

Ten minutes with Karli

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think a lot of it has been tenacity, for sure, and as well as self-reflection, realizing that there is no one right way. The thing that really helps you grow is admitting that you have opportunity for growth, always. Always seeking out opportunities to learn and develop, because stagnation is where you stop.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received has been to pursue a path that aligns with my purpose and to trust the people who encourage me to grow. I have been fortunate to have mentors and supporters who have played an important role in shaping both my personal and professional journey. Sarah Hummel, owner of The Yoga, was especially influential in guiding me through my yoga teacher training and helping me discover a deeper connection to wellness, leadership, and serving others. My husband, Bill, has also been a constant source of encouragement, supporting me through every transition and encouraging me to embrace new opportunities. These relationships have taught me that mentorship is not only about professional guidance—it is about having people who believe in your potential, challenge you to evolve, and inspire you to pursue meaningful work.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Every single role that you have experienced up to this point has helped you develop skills that you can leverage into your next career opportunity. Even if it may not seem currently aligned with what you're currently doing, it doesn't mean that you're not qualified. You have the skills that you need on the base level that you can absolutely leverage into your next step and your next role.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Going into this field, something that people may not expect that ends up being a little more challenging is the sales piece of it. Fitness is such a motivation-driven industry. You're not selling a tangible product, you're selling a feeling, you're selling an experience. The reward of that is seeing people's lives just completely transform, and know that you were kind of the person that helped them take that first step.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Values that are most important to me, both personally and professionally, is self-reflection, authenticity, and connection, both with other people and with yourself.
