Her Interview
Ten minutes with Karly
01What do you attribute your success to?
I always say two things. I am not a no person, I'm a maybe-not-right-now type of person. I don't believe in weakness, I believe in areas for improvement. We all have strengths and areas that we can always do better at. I try and surround myself with amazing people. I have an amazing team and amazing partners. Without the team, nothing works.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't close off any opportunities, don't say no to anything. Maybe say not right now, but don't go in with a closed mind. Look at things as possibilities instead of problems. Don't look at something as something that you maybe don't love doing. Try and find things that you like and know that there's going to be really hard days, but if the good days outweigh the bad, then you're doing something right.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Everybody needs something different. The challenge is really just getting people to understand that there is a right place for everybody. You need to wash away any preconceived notions you have about most places and just trust that you're gonna end up in a good place. A lot of it is what you make of it.
