About Karmen

Karmen Norris began her career in the trades industry in 2010 as a CSR. Over 16 years, she has supported technician teams by performing nearly every role within trades businesses. Her enthusiasm for the work led her to become a manager, where she built training programs and developed a deep expertise in Service Titan FSM. In the last year and a half, she transitioned into coaching others on the platform, guiding contractors on implementation, best practices, and optimization to drive business success. Karmen has moved between multiple trades companies, growing teams and fostering positive cultures. A dedicated student of leadership, she pursues self-directed training and coaching to become an effective leader who empowers young technicians and CSRs. She draws from her own experiences as a young single mother to emphasize support and guidance for others entering the field.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Karmen

01What do you attribute your success to?

I’ve never been interested in being the loudest voice in the room. My success has come from being the person who rolls up her sleeves, earns trust, builds structure, and follows through. I believe people do their best work when they have clarity, accountability, and someone who genuinely cares about their growth. Technology, data, and strategy are powerful tools, but they’re only as valuable as the execution behind them. That’s where I thrive—turning complexity into systems, ideas into action, and good teams into exceptional ones.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

”Don’t forget what you bring to the table and don’t be afraid to eat alone.”

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t be afraid to lean into your own confidence. You have an opinion and it’s valuable.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There’s so much room for growth in a world where not just wrenches and gauges are tools but now there is the introduction of technology. Being knowledgeable about how tech (Ai) can help build and run businesses in an efficient way and bring goals into reality will be the thing that sets coaches and leaders apart from the rest.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being consistent and reliable.

As a leader, companies rely on me to be consistent, steady handed and reliable to help their business grow. I support their teams in the way I show.

In my personal life, I am a solo parent. Being consistent to provide reliability for my kiddos is the most important job I could ever have.
