Her Story

About Karolina

I currently work as an associate at Ernst & Young in San Diego, where I've been fortunate to start my career and build meaningful connections. I'm very close to our office managing partner and have been involved in so many organizations here at the firm. I'm really grateful for the opportunity EY has given me, and I know that even if my path takes me elsewhere, I'll always have ties to this firm. There are beautiful success stories that have come out of the San Diego EY office, like the owner of Eurai who worked here in the same position as me and then went on to start his own clothing brand, and EY still does the finances for it. That kind of full circle moment is something I hope to have as well. I'm naturally drawn to finance and accounting, and I see myself continuing in these fields in the future. Whether that means pursuing the traditional corporate ladder path and moving into higher roles from associate to senior level to senior manager and director positions, or opening my own financial service organization dedicated to wealth management and real estate, I'm keeping my options open. There's a saying in Spanish that what is meant to be will happen, and it's so hard to sometimes plan and arrange for things, so I'm trying not to play God too much with my future plans.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mom and dad. As a Latino, my parents have been instrumental in shaping who I am and what I've been able to achieve. Their support and the values they instilled in me have been the foundation of everything I've accomplished in my career.
