Her Story

About Kasha

I’m Kasha Smith, Founder and CEO of KandleS by PerfectionKS, and I’m passionate about turning everyday moments into experiences that feel good, smell amazing, and create a sense of wellness.

My journey into entrepreneurship began after more than 20 years in corporate retail. What started as a personal creative outlet through candle making eventually became a business—and a much bigger vision. I realized that candles could be more than beautiful products; they could become part of how people pause, reset, celebrate, connect, and care for their spaces.

Today, I’m building KandleS into a purpose-driven candle brand focused on clean-burning, plant-based soy candles and crackling wooden wicks. I’m especially passionate about creating products that are giftable, accessible, beautifully presented, and worthy of a place in both homes and businesses.

As a women-owned entrepreneur, I’m committed to building a brand that creates opportunities, forms meaningful partnerships, and grows far beyond my own hands. My goal is bold: to get at least one healthy-burning candle into every household and office around the world by 2030.

I’m not just building a candle company—I’m building a brand around wellness, connection, gifting, and intentional moments, one Kandle at a time.

Ten minutes with Kasha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, consistency, and the willingness to keep going when the path isn’t clear. I’ve learned that entrepreneurship isn’t about having everything figured out—it’s about being willing to learn, adapt, make mistakes, and keep moving forward.

I also credit my ability to recognize opportunities and turn challenges into fuel. My years in corporate retail taught me how businesses operate from the inside, and becoming an entrepreneur taught me how important it is to trust my own vision.

Most importantly, I stay connected to why I started. KandleS is bigger than candles for me. I’m building something with purpose, and having a mission that extends beyond myself keeps me focused when things get difficult.

My success is still a work in progress, but every milestone reminds me that persistence compounds. I may not have started with everything I needed, but I’ve been willing to learn what I didn’t know, invest in myself, and keep showing up.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have ever received is " Trust the Process".

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Go for it. We get so caught up on what if it doesn't work, what if? The mindset should change to what if it does? What if it does turn out for the better. Every decision we make in life teaches us something, no matter if it's good or bad. Don't be scared, just go for it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

being authentic seems to be a struggle in the business world when everything is turning into A.I. Keeping up with all the changes and to not fall behind is the most exhausting and everything is changing so fast.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My biggest value is family and work life balance. We should be able to work to live and not live to work. I take strong pride in maintaining my balance in life between work and family. I can say that this business is a passion that I can pass down to my little ones so that they can have the same luxury of work life balance.
