Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kashish
01What do you attribute your success to?
My time management and drive. I've been told my drive is something to be proud of. Ever since I was a kid in first grade, I wanted to do something big or impactful and planned to improve my grades.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From my therapist: take it step by step and that everything always works out no matter what. Look at my own history where things have worked out in moments of extreme stress.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Showing up for yourself is the biggest advice. In some fields women may feel uncomfortable or out of place, but showing up for yourself every day despite doubts allows you to achieve any success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
In the legal field, the biggest challenge is empathy - putting yourself in the client's position and connecting on a human level rather than just the legal procedures. The biggest opportunity is utilizing organizations, clubs, and career centers at law schools to develop personal skills like observation and making clients comfortable.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Empathy is one of my biggest values no matter where it is. It's hard to put yourself in someone else's shoes especially with social media disconnecting us. Empathy helped me succeed working with high profile cases and victims at the DA's office.
