Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kassie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my dedication, my faith, and my family. I am also deeply grateful for the sense of family I have built within my professional community and field, as well as the support and grounding I receive from my family at home.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to do what you love. If you’re not leaving work at the end of the day feeling tired but fulfilled and happy, then it may not be your true passion.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to always keep their head up and stay confident in who they are. Throughout life and work, there will be challenges and pressures that try to shape you into what others expect, but it’s important to stay grounded, focused, and true to yourself. When you carry yourself with confidence and purpose, it naturally draws others in and helps you move forward with strength, no matter the obstacles.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the lack of representation of women in leadership positions, especially in an industry like hospitality that has traditionally been male-dominated. Having a platform as a woman in a position of power is still not as common as it should be. Workforce management is another ongoing challenge, particularly with high turnover and the difficulty of maintaining long-term retention in such an intense and demanding environment. At the same time, these challenges also highlight opportunities to create more inclusive leadership and build stronger, more sustainable teams within the industry.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are integrity, caring for people, and personal growth. I strive to lead with honesty and consistency, while also ensuring that I treat others with respect and empathy. A key part of my role involves supporting and mentoring others, so I take seriously the responsibility of setting a strong example and giving people the tools they need to succeed.
