About Kat

I am an executive leader and business development professional with a diverse background in association management, marketing, human resources, and organizational strategy, currently serving as Executive Officer at NWA HBA, a role I have held since September 2024, where I lead executive-level management and business development initiatives for the Northwest Arkansas Home Builders Association. Prior to this role, I served as Marketing Director at NWA HBA for six months, where I led marketing strategy and digital communications.

Before joining NWA HBA, I served as Director of Market Development at SBCA for over a year and a half, where I exhibited at the Innovative Housing Showcase, met with the Secretary of HUD and the Director of DOE to discuss the housing affordability crisis, created weekly technical articles for industry news, recorded voice-over audio for magazine articles, contributed to podcasts, designed data and trend reports, formulated strategic engagement initiatives, led comprehensive marketing efforts, cultivated professional relationships with industry professionals and government officials, and conducted in-depth market research to identify growth opportunities.

I also served as Director of Development at a23 Studios for over a year, where I created awareness and expanded reach within the community and industry, led organizational strategic planning, was selected to attend the National Housing Awards Gala as an Emerging Leader in Affordable Housing, tracked and analyzed market trends, developed company voice and brand, oversaw people-related growth and talent acquisition, and assessed and improved internal operations.

Earlier in my career, I served as People and Business Operations at GLHN Architects and Engineers for over three years, where I managed human resources and operations, staffed the new Phoenix Office from two to fourteen employees during a workforce labor shortage, took the company from fifty-six to seventy-five employees in two years, managed the transition to a one hundred percent remote workforce during the pandemic, selected and implemented an Applicant Tracking System, redesigned the performance evaluation process, implemented the company's first Intranet, and identified cost reduction opportunities. I also served as Professional Development Coordinator at Raytheon on a contract basis for ten months, where I maintained the Capture Manager Certification program, administered the launch of the first RMS Proposal Manager Certification Program, and coordinated the Annual CMX Capstone Event.

Across my career in association leadership, business development, human resources, and marketing, my work has been driven by a commitment to strategic growth, organizational excellence, and building strong relationships across industries and communities. Whether I am leading an association, developing market strategies, or managing human resources, I bring a collaborative approach, strong leadership skills, and a dedication to creating lasting impact through innovation and relationship-building. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue serving the building industry and my community through my work at NWA HBA.
