Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kate

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to pushing past experiences like that and my self-worth. I decided to persist and started to value property development and concept. I really did actually attach evaluation to that. It is about encouraging women in STEM and taking contracts.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I bless the past and let it go, is a phrase from Louise Hay I like to use a lot.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

When your opinion is not heard by someone you think is over your head in a position, you have earned the right to seek positions that you create for yourself if they are not created for you. You are a creator, you are not waiting for a male-oriented industry with capital that favors men to do it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities in grant writing and fundraising are high because of better tools for tracking donors and grants. Challenges are where to spend the focus for the day and dealing with saboteur issues from past invasions.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Compassion and mercy square high. Maintaining a general ethos of prioritizing life in its perpetuation is important. As a naturopath, natural foods and agriculture matter a lot. Fair trade and organic. Multiple perspectives always visited before you reach a conclusion.
