Ten minutes with Katelyn
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From my experience, one of the most valuable pieces of career advice I received was from a mentor teacher who encouraged me to pursue a path that better aligned with my strengths. That guidance gave me the confidence to pivot into technology sales, where I have been able to build meaningful relationships, embrace continuous learning, and grow professionally.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to dive into opportunities with confidence, even when they feel uncertain. You do not have to be the smartest person in the room to succeed. Be willing to ask questions, raise your hand, contribute ideas, and learn from every experience—even the mistakes.
Failing forward is an important part of growth. Imposter syndrome affects nearly everyone at some point, but it should never prevent you from pursuing your goals. Continue developing your skills, embrace challenges, and become the person you aspire to be through consistent effort and resilience.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the foundation of everything I do, both professionally and personally. I believe in staying true to my values, being honest in my interactions, and maintaining strong ethical standards in every decision I make.
I also believe in establishing healthy boundaries so I can be fully present for both my career and my family. Success should never come at the expense of the people who matter most.
One of my greatest strengths is building genuine relationships with customers and colleagues. I recognize the value of collaboration and believe the best outcomes come from combining my strengths in relationship-building with the expertise of technical specialists. Knowing my strengths, respecting my limitations, and working as part of a strong team allows me to deliver the greatest value to customers.
