Her Story
About Katherine
Catherine is a house manager for private families with five years of experience. She previously worked at the University of Georgia as a 4-H agent doing youth programming. When COVID began, she transitioned to nannying, which led her into house management. Catherine works with an agency but also finds families through Facebook groups. Her typical responsibilities include tidying up, doing laundry, running errands, cooking dinners, grocery shopping, organizing items for summer camp or holiday trips, and taking children to activities such as tennis, gymnastics, and horseback riding. She works 40 hours per week with her main family and an additional four hours per week helping another family with laundry and babysitting. Catherine values the flexibility of setting her own hours and appreciates having a community of other house managers and nannies for advice and support. She advises others entering the field to ask questions with families, avoid assumptions, and not be afraid to be ambitious. Outside of work, she supports the Humane Society due to her love for animals.
