Katherine Kinnard is a dedicated Neurodiagnostic Technologist and pre-medical student, currently contributing her expertise at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. With a strong foundation in neurodiagnostic technology and patient-centered care, she applies her skills to assist in diagnosing and understanding complex neurological conditions. Katherine’s professional approach combines technical precision with compassion, ensuring the highest standard of care for every patient she encounters. Throughout her academic and professional journey, Katherine has demonstrated a commitment to advancing her knowledge and expertise. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurodiagnostic Technology from the University of Holy Cross and is a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) through ABRET. Her dedication to learning is further reflected in her active participation in professional conferences, including presenting research on the interplay between Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and late-onset Pompe disease at the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Annual Conference. I attribute my success to being determined and relentlessly pursuing my goals and passions. In addition to my professional endeavors, I have a special interest in playing the cello, which allows me to cultivate creativity and discipline outside of my career.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to make sure I am heard and to voice my opinions, because they matter. I’ve also learned the importance of continuous learning and striving to make a meaningful difference every day.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to remain open to learning new skills and taking on diverse responsibilities. Embrace leadership opportunities and lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and dedication in all that you do.

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is maintaining the dedication and focus required to continually study and grow, so that I can provide the highest level of care to those who need my expertise. This commitment allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients every day.
