About Katherine
I'm a senior at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in psychology and graduating in May. I started college as a computer science major but switched to psychology my second semester of freshman year. My goal is to become a trauma counselor, and I'm currently applying to graduate schools including UC's Graduate Program, Drexel University, Western Carolina University, and University of North Dakota. Throughout my undergrad, I've really had to learn how to get to know myself and my boundaries - like how I study best, how to arrange my classes, and balancing that with life, like renting an apartment, going to school, trying to have a job, and dealing with roommates. I don't currently have a job because I wasn't sure if I could handle a job on top of focusing on school and graduate school applications this semester. I'm kind of like the mom of my apartment with my four housemates who are younger than me. I'm involved in the church on campus, H2O Cincinnati, and I volunteer weekly at the 86 Coffee Bar, a coffee shop close to campus. I'm part of the cleaning crew there, helping restock shelves and keep the coffee shop clean. It's such a fulfilling environment - you just walk in the doors and it feels safe, like all your worries can't come inside with you. I'm also getting a certificate in Hebrew, which I've been studying for the past couple years. It started as a requirement for one semester of a foreign language, but I loved the idea that it's been spoken for thousands of years.
