About Kathleen
Kathleen TerrySharp serves as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. She has been in higher education since 1995, beginning with teaching American government and graduate courses in public administration after earning a master's in public administration focused on higher education administration from her alma mater, Millsaps College. Her career includes early teaching of third grade to Haitian refugees in the Bahamas, roles as a coordinator for graduate programs, Senior Director for State and Regional Initiatives at the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars for 14 years, and Director of Practice of Academic Relations and Practicing Applied Programs at the American Anthropological Association for 14 years. She later moved into fundraising, serving seven years as Associate Vice President at Christian Brothers University, founded the ECHO Foundation for equine-assisted access, and spent five years in executive coaching and organizational development using equine-assisted learning and leadership facilitation, for which she is certified along with her certified fundraising executive credential. TerrySharp returned to Millsaps after 37 years away to apply her expertise in service to the institution, integrating her background in educational leadership, fundraising, and equine-assisted methods while planning to remain in the role for at least five years before resuming full-time coaching and leadership development.
