Her Story

About Kathryn

My journey into this field was born from personal adversity. I was an athlete for a very long time and sustained life-altering injuries that prevented me from continuing in athletics. That was devastating to me and led to severe depression, anxiety, and limiting beliefs. I went through very unhealthy relationships in both business and personal life where I silenced myself and made myself small because I didn't feel like I was worth being seen. Through deep self-work and reflection, I came to believe that my purpose is to be seen and to be heard, to empower people to become their most authentic, brave selves, to own their voice, and to lead with power. I've been a massage therapist for 12 years, specializing in deep tissue work that targets connective tissue combined with energetic healing for nervous system regulation. I've built businesses from the ground up multiple times, and even after moving to Florida, I've maintained strong relationships with my clients back in Arizona, including wealthy individuals, celebrities, and athletes. I do consultations and primarily one-on-one coaching, approaching clients through their business first, then helping them address the personal life issues that often create business problems. I'm writing a book called 'Own It: Find Your Voice, Lead with Purpose' and developing online courses. I truly feel that since I've been alive, I've inspired people to be courageous and brave, and I instill hope in people.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my perseverance. I cannot stand to be anything less than motivating to people. I truly feel like since I've been alive, I've inspired people to be courageous and brave, and I instill hope in people. If I can't do that for myself, how am I supposed to do that for other people? So I continue to work every single day at my mental health and my ability to push forward through any obstacle, because God wouldn't give us things that He didn't believe that we could overcome.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from my business coach, JT Foxx, who told me to think bigger in everything that I do. I had the story that I was just a solo entrepreneur, just a service provider. When he told me that, it got me to think more clearly and in depth about how I can make a bigger impact. It made me consider how I can utilize the gifts I've been given and the tools at my disposal to amplify what I do, amplify what other people do, or even teach them what I do. It was in that space that got me to get outside of my comfort zone and move beyond working one-on-one with massage and being limited by my time.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field are working with people who have limiting beliefs and helping them shift their paradigm. We tell ourselves a story that we are in a specific situation because of certain reasons, and we attach an emotion to that. That emotion is what keeps us stuck. When we let go of that emotion, when we let go of 'this is my story, this is how I have to be,' then that becomes open and free for them to be able to make changes more rapidly. The challenge with that is people don't like change. But in that space, that is a huge opportunity. It can take somebody from a truly awful mindset of negativity and pessimism and 'all hope is lost' to six or seven figures. In the health and wellness space or in the beauty space, that's huge. For a solo lash artist making $50,000 to $60,000 to break through that six-figure mark would be a huge benefit to not only them, but also the people that they serve and to their families.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are love, compassion, and hope. I actually had a coaching session a couple days ago, and we identified these as my top three values.
