My advice to young women entering public relations is that you can absolutely build a successful career while also cultivating those meaningful, long-lasting relationships that make the work so rewarding.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is stepping into new roles, like my current position at Wireside, where I’ve been thriving for the past two years and continuing to grow professionally.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Quality family time is incredibly important to me. I have twins who are turning 21, and just being with them when they're home from school means everything. Beyond my immediate family, I value creating meaningful memories with my extended family too. Over the last 10 years, my sister and I have been taking my mom on trips to cross things off her bucket list - we've taken her to Napa Valley, Iceland to see the Northern Lights, Rome to see the Vatican, through Central Europe, to France, and even Puerto Rico during the pandemic with the kids. Every couple of years we do a big trip together, and we're just trying to build good memories. There are laughs and sometimes arguments, but every trip is something we remember. Those relationships and that time spent together, whether it's with my children or my mom and sister, are what matter most to me outside of work.
