About Kathy
Kathy DiVincenzo founded the Cleveland Foster Care Closet after experiencing firsthand the challenges faced by foster families in Cuyahoga County, where the number of children in foster care leads the state of Ohio. As a foster parent herself, she recognized the significant financial and emotional burdens on families welcoming children into their homes and established the organization to fill this gap in support. A 2011 graduate of St. Vincent College with a bachelor's degree in communications focusing on public relations and advertising, DiVincenzo previously worked in corporate advertising and marketing roles and owned her own successful business for seven and a half years before making this pivot to nonprofit work. Her efforts have resulted in over 1,400 orders fulfilled and more than 8,000 service hours dedicated to assisting foster families. She has received notable honors including the Smart Women award in the progressive woman category, recognition as a Heroes for Children honoree, and designation as a GIF DIF maker by CABS. Through her work, DiVincenzo aims to raise national awareness about the foster care crisis and encourage community involvement in supporting these families.
