Kathy Figueroa

I began my banking career after my husband saw an ad for a teller position while I was in college and didn't really know what my goals were. I applied and ended up spending 42 wonderful years in banking, always working in private banking with high net worth clients. I worked my way up from teller to AVP, spending 20 years at Republic National Bank (which turned into HSBC) and 22 years at Citibank Private Bank. My banking career was the best - I felt like I never worked a day in my life because I enjoyed it so much. I would still be working in banking, but the commute to the city from Jersey became too much. After being outsourced from Citibank in 2012, I worked for 4 years as a secretary in family law, which was quite interesting and I learned a lot. I also started working part-time at Kohl's, where I've been for 10 years doing customer service. Now I'm semi-retired, working part-time, taking care of my home, being available for my son and grandkids, and enjoying my hobbies. I like working with people, and that's been a constant throughout my career.
