About Kathy
Twenty years ago, I needed to re-architect my career, so I started to think about my career like a venture capitalist thinks about their portfolio. I decided to build multiple companies over the next 20 years of my career, treating my career like a portfolio and putting my intellectual capital and time into building multiple companies, knowing that some would do well and some might not. I'm on the other side of that journey now. As a founder and CEO, I mentor other founders today, doing a lot of consulting work with both men and women. I also have a portfolio of board seats with private equity, VC-funded, and pre-IPO companies that I sit on the board of, focusing on value creation and AI transformation. I work at the forefront of innovation, helping other companies materialize, or operationalize, AI in a material way. I've been mentoring other founders for the past 3 years, along with my board service.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Number one is resilience. You have to be resilient for the setbacks and get back up and do it again, so resilience is absolutely key. Persistence is probably the second quality that's key to being a successful entrepreneur - those two, resilience and persistence. And I have a high risk tolerance, which helps as well.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just to believe in yourself, and if your intuition is telling you to take the risk, you absolutely should. You'll never regret taking a risk, even if it doesn't work the first time. It will work eventually.
