About Kathy

Kathy A. Morris, BA, MPA, is an accomplished Administrative Community Relations professional and NYPD Community Affairs Bronx Ambassador with more than 26 years of experience in community relations, public service, social services, and human resources. In her current role, she conducts extensive community outreach, addresses quality-of-life concerns, and collaborates with precinct commanding officers, elected officials, residents, business owners, clergy, and community organizations to develop effective solutions and strengthen relationships within the community.

Prior to joining the NYPD, Kathy dedicated 21 years to the Human Resources Administration, advancing from an eligibility specialist to leadership positions including staff developer, supervisor, Deputy Director, and Deputy Human Resources Business Partner for FIA Operations. Her extensive background includes human resources administration, recruitment, employee development, training, workforce coordination, and public-sector operations. She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Monroe Community College and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Metropolitan College of New York.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Kathy is a committed community leader, mentor, motivational speaker, and advocate for women. She founded Broken, But Not Disqualified, a mentoring group dedicated to helping women heal, grow, and recognize their purpose regardless of their past or challenges. She also serves as Second Vice Chairperson of Community Board 3 and remains actively involved in community development and advocacy. Kathy attributes her success to self-belief, faith, perseverance, and the encouragement of her children, while embracing integrity, family, unity, and service as guiding values.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to believing in myself, trusting God’s plan, and being motivated by my children to keep pushing forward.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to stand together, support one another, and remember that we cannot heal from what we choose to hide.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see many opportunities for networking, professional growth, and building meaningful connections in the field.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, family, and togetherness are the values that guide me. I believe that when we unite, we can overcome challenges and achieve more together.
