About Katie
Katie L. Arbelo serves as a Service Delivery Supervisor at Datavant, one of the leading providers of medical record services, where she has built a career centered on healthcare operations, leadership, and service excellence. With more than 15 years of experience in the medical field, Arbelo currently leads a team of 25 professionals responsible for processing medical record requests for multiple hospitals and clients. She begins each day by fostering a positive and engaging team environment through motivational messages, reminders, and activities such as “Monday Music Madness.” In addition to overseeing daily operations, she monitors performance, provides individualized coaching, and encourages her team to view challenges as opportunities for professional and career growth.
Arbelo’s passion for the medical field began early in life through her desire to help others. Growing up, she helped care for her younger siblings and assisted her mother, a certified nursing assistant, at a retirement home, experiences that helped shape her commitment to service and healthcare. Her early work experience also included roles in a retirement home kitchen, food service, and car washes while she was in high school. These experiences provided her with a strong work ethic and appreciation for teamwork, ultimately leading her toward a career in healthcare operations. Throughout her professional journey, she has continued to develop her leadership, communication, customer service, and quality management skills. Her current professional profile reflects a focus on personal development and quality management.
Committed to continuous growth, Arbelo is pursuing her bachelor’s degree and has demonstrated exceptional dedication to her education, including receiving a college award after completing 21 credits in a four-week period. She is also preparing for future management and senior leadership opportunities through mentorship from her company’s vice president and professional development in areas such as leadership, operational excellence, and people management. Her leadership philosophy centers on patience, continuous learning, empathy, and helping others recognize the value of their contributions. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Arbelo volunteers with the Purple Heart Committee alongside her husband, where she contributes her knowledge of medical records and administrative support. Her commitment to developing people, improving processes, and serving others continues to define her professional journey.
