About Katie
Katie Cutrell serves as Clinical Site Director for a company that provides mental health and substance use services. She has at least 15 years of experience in her field, which could total 20 years when including five years working for the state of Indiana in public assistance. Katie earned her Master's of Social Work in 2011 after initially working in child development and family studies during her undergraduate years, where she provided supervised visitation and worked at the Boys and Girls Club. She later obtained her clinical licensure in 2018. Her career path includes roles supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, community mental health work involving homes and Department of Child Services cases, substance use intakes including a pilot program in jails, and a position as a social worker at Riley Children's Hospital. She has contributed to program development in community mental health and served on training and development committees for family recovery court and drug treatment court. Katie received the Clinical Supervisor of the Year award from the University of Indianapolis, nominated by her interns. Outside of her professional roles, she volunteers as Director of Volunteers for Hendricks Community Soccer. She emphasizes the importance of strong work-life balance, using the transition of entering and exiting her car as a mental switch between her professional and personal identities.
