About Katie
Katie Duran has been in the bridal business since she was a junior in high school, accumulating over 20 years of experience. After earning a degree in public relations and working briefly in events, she returned to bridal retail, managing a large store for eight years before opening Løv Bridal Sartorial with her husband four years ago. The boutique specializes in custom bridal gowns and bespoke suits for men and women, crafted from premium Italian and English fabrics with 40 precise measurements. She recently earned certification as a master tailor and designer through the Custom Tailors and Designers Association after completing classes in New York, and she is a member of the Omaha Executives Association and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. Duran is planning a second location in Omaha and values building relationships with clients to help them feel special on their wedding day.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would probably go back to the village. I mean, my husband, my parents, our kids, like could not do this without any of them, because I still am a mom, I'm still a member of the community... Be able to have that strong support system that's going to encourage you and push you and help you along the way.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I would say to just keep trying. I mean, things are never going to go exactly how you think they are... you're gonna work toward it. You're not... it's not gonna be the path that you think you'll be to get there, so you gotta just keep trying and use your support system.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell them to just make lots of contacts, you know, get to know other professionals in your industry... always go to networking events, be open to meeting people, because you never know how you're going to meet someone... word of mouth, like, that's what people remember... You've gotta put it in at both sides, you gotta be Get your name out there, but also just Take care of people.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
A big opportunity is that people are going back to liking to dress up again for special occasions... valuing something for them, that they can be unique, they can feel great. Challenge is trade tariffs and shipping costs with Italy and England, and fabric availability like companies buying up stock.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Hard work is always going to be needed... being a relationship person and always thinking about the person is very important... having a strong faith, too, of You know, we're not we're not in this alone, and we're gonna have good days, and you're gonna have bad days, but you're gonna get through it!
