What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my deep commitment to empowering others and my unwavering belief in the possibility of healing. With over 20 years in the medical field and now serving as Director of Treatment Access, my work in behavioral health has become a true mission of purpose. For the past nine years, I’ve dedicated myself to breaking down barriers to interventional care and helping people believe that remission is achievable—using tools and approaches that reach far beyond medication. One of my proudest accomplishments was earning my bachelor’s degree—a personal milestone that symbolized self-love, perseverance, and growth. That experience continues to inspire me to pay it forward by uplifting those around me. I strive to create a supportive, non-competitive environment, just as my mentors once did for me. Above all, I believe that loving and supporting people is the foundation of everything I do.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple but powerful: go for it, believe in yourself, and never underestimate the importance of self-care. This field can be both challenging and deeply rewarding, so maintaining confidence in your abilities and taking care of your well-being will help you thrive and make a lasting impact.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is the growing recognition of the importance of accessible behavioral health care and interventional treatments. We’re seeing a shift toward more holistic approaches that integrate emotional, physical, and mental well-being—and that’s incredibly exciting. At the same time, one of the greatest challenges remains ensuring equitable access to these services for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors who’ve guided me along the way—especially my very first mentor, Ramona Hernandez, who saw my potential early on and believed in me when I was just starting out. Her support and encouragement continue to inspire how I lead and mentor others today. Being recognized as the 2025 Woman of the Year Emerging Leader is both humbling and motivating—it reminds me why I do this work. Outside of my career, I enjoy reading, mentoring children, and gardening, all of which keep me learning, grounded, and connected to what truly matters.
