Her Story

About Katie

I have spent the past 11 years in consulting and talent acquisition, partnering with clients to solve complex business challenges by building exceptional teams. My work is highly collaborative, combining a deep understanding of business needs with market intelligence, emerging skill trends, and compensation insights to help organizations attract and retain top talent.

One of the highlights of my career was being invited to speak at an international conference of more than 500 attendees as one of only four panelists—and the youngest panelist at the time. It was an opportunity that reinforced my passion for sharing knowledge and building meaningful relationships.

Ten minutes with Katie

01What do you attribute your success to?

My family, friends, and the community I've built along the way have had the greatest impact on my career. I've been fortunate to have mentors and colleagues who advocated for me when I wasn't in the room, and those experiences shaped the leader I strive to be today. They've taught me the importance of being authentic, knowing my strengths, staying true to my values, and continuously learning from others.

Because of that, I believe in advocating for others even when they're not present, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Giving back and paying forward the support I've received is something I value deeply.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Always be true to yourself, advocate for yourself, be curious, and don't be afraid to raise your hand even if something seems intimidating or outside your wheelhouse. Lean into new challenges presented to you and learn along the way.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Even when feeling intimidated or experiencing imposter syndrome, acknowledge it, know it's real, but you can still move forward. Everyone starts somewhere and had to do things for the first time. Continue to reach out, raise your hand, ask questions, get curious, and lean on others.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities right now is AI. It's gone from a nice-to-have to actually part of how firms deliver work, and the ones who've figured that out are pulling ahead. There's also a real shift toward specialists over generalists; clients want deep expertise. On the challenge side, there's just so much noise out there — keeping up with the market and figuring out what actually matters amid constant information overload is tough. And technology, especially AI, is evolving so fast that falling behind even a little makes it that much harder to catch back up. So it's really about standing out and staying current when everyone's more efficient and more competitive at the same time.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Leading authentically with honesty and integrity. Resiliency - knowing hard times come but taking lessons learned, getting back up, and coming out stronger because of it. Lastly, gratitude - appreciating the people, opportunities, and experiences that shape us, while never taking for granted the support and encouragement we receive along the way.
