Her Interview
Ten minutes with Katie
01What do you attribute your success to?
My old manager Jenny was very influential and an aspiration in my career. I have a pretty good ambitious streak and am very driven. I like to expose myself to challenging things that develop me, like moving to the US, which keeps me motivated.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
An old manager used to say 'it's only B2B marketing' to remind me to relax, be confident, not get overwhelmed. Not taking things too seriously helps the mindset, makes you more productive, and prevents burnout. I pass this mindset to my team.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Your opinion is valuable, hold yourself with confidence, know you are the expert. Don't let being surrounded by guys put you off - it puts you in a strong position. Take advantage of being the only woman in the room because it's empowering and builds you as a person.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Dealing with difficult clients who provide feedback in a non-constructive way requires resilience. AI is on the rise so staying relevant and continually showing value is a challenge but exciting opportunity. People management with a big team and different opinions can be challenging but rewarding.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and transparency for open conversations. Good work-life balance to be more productive. Being altruistic and helping people, collaboration as a team sport rather than competing.
