Her Story

About Katie

Katie Sokolik is a sexual health educator, coach, and physical therapy professional dedicated to helping individuals and couples improve intimacy and overall well-being. Her work is deeply rooted in both professional expertise and personal experience, as her own journey through perimenopause, menopause, and injury reshaped her understanding of communication, connection, and physical health. Recognizing the significant changes that occur as people age—both physically and emotionally—Katie has made it her mission to provide education and tools that help others navigate these transitions with confidence, awareness, and compassion.
With over a decade of experience in physical therapy, Katie identified a critical gap between pelvic health care and sexual health education, particularly for individuals experiencing life stage changes. This realization led her to pivot her career toward sexual health coaching, where she integrates her clinical background with a holistic approach that includes nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and open communication. Through her work, she empowers clients to better understand their bodies, strengthen relationships, and expand their definition of intimacy in ways that are both practical and meaningful.
Katie holds multiple certifications in sexual health education and life coaching and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in counseling, further deepening her ability to support her clients. Known for creating a safe, judgment-free environment, she encourages open dialogue around topics that are often stigmatized or overlooked. Her approach is centered on education, curiosity, and care, helping people reconnect with themselves and their partners while fostering healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Katie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence and providing information out for people free of charge, and then being persistent on that and getting people to talk about it. I would say offering a kind of calm, quiet environment that makes people comfortable to share their most intimate parts of their lives has been key to what I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to engage with people with a level of curiosity and to let them find their own journey through motivational interviewing, realizing that they have the answers themselves already.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to women entering this industry is to come at it with an open mind. You learn a lot as you're going through the education process of information that might be new, and to approach it with an open mind and not be judgmental.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The current opportunity in my field is that this is fairly new and people are just now realizing that the changes through life are a real thing and that there are ways to help. It's really blown up, especially for women, but also for men too. The downside is that people have such a stigma of shame around talking about sex and sexual health and sex therapy. Whether it's religious trauma or any other kind of trauma, people just find it a shameful thing to talk about. Having to approach that with open minds and compassion is really what's needed.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are education, quietness in the body and mind, and experimentation. I value trying on different techniques to see what's helpful and not helpful, and to go at life with a level of fun and care and curiosity.
