About Katie

Katie Zacharia is a communications executive, attorney, and nationally recognized political and legal commentator with expertise spanning government, media, and public affairs. She serves as Senior Communications Advisor for Trump Media & Technology Group and Truth Social and is General Counsel for Fix California. A graduate of Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, Katie began her legal career practicing corporate law in Beijing, China, where she spent three years developing expertise in advocacy, strategic analysis, and cross-cultural communication. Her transition into television came unexpectedly during United Nations Week in New York, when an on-air opportunity launched a successful career as a political analyst and commentator.

Drawing on her legal training, Katie has become a trusted voice on breaking news, public policy, and political affairs, appearing regularly on Fox News, Newsmax, CNN, OANN, and other national media outlets. Her ability to quickly analyze complex legal and political issues, identify the most relevant facts, and communicate them with clarity has made her a sought-after commentator during rapidly developing news events. Throughout her career, she has also served in senior government communications roles, including as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and Spokesperson at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where she advised leadership on strategic communications and public engagement.

Katie attributes her success to preparation, adaptability, discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement. She believes every opportunity—regardless of its size—is a chance to sharpen her skills, expand her perspective, and build meaningful relationships. Guided by a professional philosophy rooted in clarity, authenticity, and respect, she is known for making complex issues accessible to diverse audiences while maintaining credibility and composure under pressure. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Katie is a devoted mother of four who views health, fitness, and family as essential to sustaining high performance in every aspect of her life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Katie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to preparation, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. My legal background taught me how to analyze complex issues, think critically under pressure, and communicate with clarity—skills that have been invaluable in both law and television. I also believe in approaching every opportunity with professionalism and curiosity, always striving to refine my craft and explain complicated topics in a way that is accurate, accessible, and meaningful.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to never stop seeking honest feedback and to always be willing to learn from it. Growth comes from evaluating your performance objectively, making small improvements over time, and staying open to new perspectives. I've also learned the value of saying yes to opportunities. Every interview, appearance, or experience—no matter how big or small—is a chance to develop your skills, build relationships, and prepare for what's next. Success isn't built in a single moment; it's the result of consistent preparation, humility, and showing up every day ready to improve.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be comfortable watching yourself and analyzing your performance. Ask respected people in media for critical feedback on how to improve. Say yes to every opportunity no matter how small. Be adaptable to different hosts, audiences, and formats. Learn to be entertaining while conveying your message. Keep going relentlessly even after perceived mistakes.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in media today is keeping pace with an industry that moves faster than ever while maintaining accuracy, credibility, and professionalism. For women in particular, there can be added pressure to navigate public scrutiny, evolving platforms, and the expectation to perform confidently under constant visibility. At the same time, I believe this is one of the most exciting periods for women in media because there are more opportunities than ever to build a voice across television, digital platforms, law, politics, and public affairs.

I also believe our industry has an opportunity to elevate more thoughtful, informed, and respectful conversations. Audiences value authenticity, expertise, and clear communication, and there is tremendous need for people who can explain complex issues fairly and effectively. My own career has taught me that success rarely follows a straight line. Being prepared, embracing unexpected opportunities, and continuing to learn have allowed me to grow from law and public service into a career in national media, and I believe those qualities will continue to create opportunities for the next generation of women leaders.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Exercise is non-negotiable for mental, physical, and emotional health. Approach life with commitment rather than feelings. As a mom of four, integrate family and work without seeking perfection. Build consistency and follow through on promises to yourself.
