About Katina
Katina Belcher serves as an operations manager in the health insurance field, a position she has held for nearly four years in Riverview, Florida. With a few decades of leadership experience, she began her career as a student manager in college food services right after high school. Although she did not complete her college degree at that time, Belcher built her expertise through retail management roles at pet stores and clothing stores, followed by seven years in administration for the clerk of the court in her county. She started her current company as a customer service representative and advanced to her managerial position. In her role, Belcher arrives early each day to open the facility, ensures smooth operations by addressing issues promptly, and supports her team in their professional growth. She finds great reward in seeing employees progress from entry-level positions to promotions in other departments. Belcher also engages in community initiatives through her work, including Paint Your Heart Out Tampa Bay, the Juneteenth celebration at Raymond James Stadium, and Toys for Tots. Her professional interests include exploring opportunities in recruitment to help others find fulfilling employment.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just stay motivated. You know, you sometimes you have to drown out the outside noises, whether it's You know, the people around you, you know, sometimes people can be, you know, negative in a sense, and, you know, kind of tainting your spirits about what you're doing, and why you're doing what you're doing. Sometimes our personal lives can affected as well. And so I would tell anybody in anything that they're doing professionally that they're happy about, that they're really, you know, great at doing. You know, just drown out those outside noises. Stay focused in why you're doing what you're doing, and what accomplishments or goals you want to achieve for yourself, and just let that be your focus point, and rock it out. Just rock it out.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Definitely, it is the commitment to time, with the work that we do. It's, it's very busy. You have to be A multitasker, because again, every day is different. There are different challenges that you are faced, faced with, and, it's important, that you maintain structure and, commitment to, the success of the business. That would be some of the challenges, that you face. Some of the successes is, again, is watching people I'm in as just Regular CSRs, but really, truly seeing them grow and develop and promote into different departments and, things of that nature, that is probably the most rewarding.
