Ten minutes with Katina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to faith, perseverance, education, and the incredible people who believed in me when I needed it most. My journey has taught me that our beginnings do not have to define our future, and every challenge I've faced has strengthened my purpose to serve others. I believe in setting goals, surrounding yourself with supportive people, and taking intentional steps toward your dreams each day. For me, success isn't measured by personal achievements alone—it's about using my experiences to inspire others to believe that they can overcome obstacles and create a life filled with purpose and possibility.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I've ever received came from a teacher who believed in me during one of the most difficult seasons of my childhood. That experience taught me the importance of believing in yourself while also recognizing the incredible impact that people who believe in you can have on your journey. A strong support system provides encouragement through rejection, strength during challenges, and reminds you of your potential when you need it most. Today, I strive to pay that forward by encouraging and uplifting others through education, ministry, mentoring, and my writing.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Believe in yourself even when facing rejection and adversity. Have someone in your corner for support during moments of doubt. Write down your goals and look at them every day. Take action toward your goals consistently.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities I see is the power of women supporting and encouraging one another. Too often, women are balancing careers, family, caregiving, education, and personal goals, leaving little time to invest in themselves. I've learned through my work in education, ministry, and as an author that when women share their stories, extend compassion, and create spaces where others feel seen and valued, they inspire confidence and create lasting change. I believe that by continuing to uplift one another, pursue lifelong learning, and lead with faith and purpose, we can transform challenges into opportunities and empower the next generation to realize their full potential.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Faith, family, education, volunteering, compassion, and helping others know they are loved. My faith journey guides what I do and has sustained me through challenges.
