Her Story
About Katiuska
I'm originally from Lima, Peru, and that's where my career began. I majored in economics in Peru, but I decided to keep studying and finish my education in New York, where I also have family. I wasn't scared at all because I knew I wanted to achieve big results. I started at BMCC Community College working on an associate degree. They initially told me I'd have to wait two years to transfer to Baruch College, which was the college I was looking for at the time. However, because of my grades, they gave me the chance to move to Baruch College after just one year at BMCC. I spent three years at Baruch College and earned my Bachelor's in Business Administration with a major in economics in May of last year. I was on the Dean's List for three years in a row. Now I'm working at Citibank, and I've been accepted to NYU, where I'll be starting this April. I've been in my field for about 5 years, counting my college years.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe that you don't have limits - not even the sky is the limit. You can do whatever you want to do if you put yourself 100% into it. I always tell everybody who speaks to me that there is no big challenge that you can't achieve or do. I don't think that you have to be out of your country to get your goals. I think the only thing is you have to be 100% committed to your goals. In the next five years, I want to be in a big company, putting my ideas on the table and showing people that there is no challenge they can't achieve. I would also like to help people with no income in my country. I want to be around people who like what they do, people who align with my goals and with what I'm looking for.
