Her Story
About Katona
I've been in my field for about 12 years now. Before starting the Scaling Department in October 2025, I was at another startup where I helped them scale from less than $10,000 to $14 million in less than 5 years. I was technically their marketing director, but I also acted as CEO sometimes, or the CMO, in times where the CEO had to step away and I had to actually run the company. With my leadership and the scaling infrastructure and revenue infrastructure I put in place at that last company, they were able to hit the Inc. 5000 list 2 years in a row. The same month I came back after leaving for a little bit, they hit their first million dollars for the first time. I'm originally from Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and I've helped over 100 small businesses when it comes to their marketing and all those things. This has always been in my wheelhouse, but this is the first time I turned it into an actual company. My most notable professional achievement is helping build the entire revenue model infrastructure from scratch at my last company and helping them scale to $14 million in less than 5 years.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell her to stay a generalist. A lot of people will probably tell you to be a specialist in one thing, but the way that everything is moving today, the creative, the nimble, and the flexible are the most powerful. I would definitely tell her to not allow anybody to box her in, and if it's any skills that she feels as though she has, it'll be a point where she's able to put it on the big stage to show all of them.
