Her Story
About Katrina
Katrina Kitt is a pastor, public speaker, and aspiring youth probation officer whose life story is a powerful testament to resilience, faith, and perseverance. Placed into foster care after birth, Katrina spent her childhood moving through 15 different foster homes before aging out of the system at 18. Rather than allowing her circumstances to define her future, she made a conscious decision to rise above the challenges she faced and dedicate her life to making a positive impact on others. Her experiences have fueled a lifelong commitment to helping individuals recognize their worth, pursue their goals, and overcome adversity.
A survivor of severe domestic violence, Katrina transformed her personal hardships into a platform for advocacy and empowerment. Today, she serves as a public speaker for children in the foster care system and survivors of domestic violence, using her voice to inspire hope and encourage others to break cycles of abuse, hardship, and self-doubt. Through her ministry and outreach efforts, she challenges people to embrace their potential, develop their gifts, and create meaningful change within their communities. Her message is rooted in faith, determination, and the belief that no circumstance is too difficult to overcome.
Currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice, Katrina is working toward her goal of becoming a youth probation officer, where she hopes to mentor and guide young people toward brighter futures. Her academic success, including earning Dean's List and honors recognition, reflects the same dedication and work ethic that have defined her life's journey. An avid reader, writer, and student of human behavior, Katrina is passionate about understanding the factors that influence people's choices and helping others find a path forward. She credits her faith in God and the unwavering support of Marie O'Neill, whom she affectionately calls "Mama Number One," for helping shape the woman and leader she is today.

Ten minutes with Katrina
01What do you attribute your success to?
First and foremost to God—without Him, none of this would be possible. I also give tribute to the incredible woman who found me and believed in me, whom I call ‘Mama #1,’ Marie O’Neill. She pushed me to rise above self-pity and to become everything I am today. Through her guidance and God’s grace, I give all glory to Him.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in yourself and recognize your own potential. Know who you are, understand your strengths, and have confidence in what you bring to the table.
Never let someone else's doubts define your capabilities. There will always be challenges and people who may tell you "no," but it's important to remember that the determination, resilience, and confidence within you can create your own "yes."
If you are willing to dedicate your heart, mind, and energy to your goals, there is very little that cannot be achieved. Stay focused, work hard, and trust in your ability to succeed.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My passion is making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. To me, life is about more than simply existing—it is about living with purpose, creating impact, and leaving a positive mark on the world.
I often hear people say they are "living," but I believe true fulfillment comes from using our gifts, talents, and experiences to serve others and contribute something greater than ourselves. Too many people settle for getting by without ever stepping into their full potential. Countless dreams, abilities, and opportunities remain unrealized because people underestimate what they are capable of achieving.
I made a commitment to myself that I would not allow my gifts, purpose, or potential to go unused. I am dedicated to making a difference, continuously challenging myself to grow, and inspiring others to recognize and pursue the possibilities within them. I believe we were created for more than simply existing—we were created to make an impact.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is knowing who you are and where you’re going. It’s about understanding yourself, being clear on your path, and letting your character guide every action—because your character speaks louder than words.
