About Katy

Katy Hill serves as Marketing Manager for Irish Links Tours & Travel, Inc., a premier golf travel company headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. In her role, she oversees client-facing marketing materials, ensuring they effectively capture the unique experiences offered through the company's customized golf travel packages while also managing reservations to deliver exceptional customer experiences. A Scottish-born professional golfer, Hill combines firsthand knowledge of the game with expertise in marketing, allowing her to connect authentically with golfers and travel enthusiasts around the world. Her career began with an apprenticeship at Donald Links before she spent several years as a golf professional at Streamsong Resort and a private golf club in the Orlando area, ultimately transitioning to the corporate side of the golf industry after five years of experience in club operations.

Committed to continuous professional growth, Hill is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business & Data Analytics at Florida Southern College while simultaneously completing the PGA of America's Professional Golf Management Program with the goal of achieving Class A membership. She is also an active member of Women in the Golf Industry (WIGI), a PGA-affiliated organization dedicated to advancing and supporting women throughout the golf profession. Her academic pursuits, industry involvement, and practical experience position her at the intersection of golf, business strategy, marketing, and customer engagement.

Hill credits much of her success to her parents, who introduced her to golf at an early age and instilled the importance of kindness, perseverance, and treating others with respect. She also believes that building genuine relationships and confidently connecting with new people have been instrumental throughout her career. Her advice to young women entering the golf industry is to embrace every networking opportunity by introducing themselves, offering a warm greeting, or simply complimenting someone in the room, as meaningful connections often begin with small gestures. Guided by the values of kindness, empathy, integrity, and a strong work ethic, Hill believes in giving her best every day while recognizing the importance of stepping back to recharge, returning with renewed focus and energy.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Katy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the unwavering support and guidance of my parents. My father introduced me to the game of golf, laying the foundation for both my career and my passion for the sport, while my mother taught me the importance of leading with kindness and treating others with respect. Those lessons have shaped how I approach every opportunity, and I believe my willingness to confidently break the ice, build genuine relationships, and connect with people has been instrumental in opening doors and advancing my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to talk to everyone because you never know who you're going to meet or where a conversation might lead. Building genuine relationships and expanding your network can open unexpected doors, create valuable opportunities, and provide insights that can shape your career in meaningful ways. I've found that a willingness to connect with people and cultivate authentic professional relationships has been one of the most valuable assets in my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the golf industry is to talk to everyone and actively build your network. Every conversation is an opportunity, and you never know who may become a mentor, colleague, or future employer. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself, say hello, or offer a genuine compliment—there is always someone in the room who will appreciate the connection. Building authentic relationships with confidence, kindness, and professionalism can open doors and create opportunities throughout your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in the golf industry today is continuing to grow the game, particularly by increasing participation among women. Creating more welcoming, inclusive, and engaging experiences for female golfers is helping expand the sport and attract new audiences. At the same time, golf travel has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the industry, creating exciting opportunities to connect golfers with world-class destinations and unforgettable experiences while supporting the continued growth of the global golf community.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are kindness, empathy, and hard work. I believe it's important to treat people with respect and always try to see situations from someone else's perspective. I also believe that if you're going to do something, you should do it to the best of your ability and take pride in your work. Equally important is recognizing when it's time to step away, recharge, and return with fresh energy and a clear perspective, allowing you to perform at your best and make better decisions.
