Katy Weeks, M.Ed.

Katy Weeks, M.Ed., is a natural-born leader and distinguished educational professional with over 20 years of experience shaping learning environments and inspiring both students and educators. Currently serving as IB MYP Coordinator and IBEN Educator at Round Rock ISD, Katy combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership to implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy across multiple campuses. She is highly skilled in managing large-scale projects, designing and delivering impactful presentations, and public speaking, consistently fostering collaborative, high-performing educational communities. Katy is recognized for her ability to anticipate challenges, build contingency plans, and create systems that maximize student achievement and staff development.

Throughout her career, Katy has held pivotal roles including IB English Teacher and Head Swim Coach at Leander ISD, Assistant Principal, ESL Coordinator, and English Department Chair. She brings extensive expertise in curriculum development, staff mentoring, program management, and cross-functional collaboration. Katy has successfully managed departmental budgets, created master schedules, led professional learning communities (PLCs), and enhanced the visibility and impact of IB programs on campus. Her commitment to student growth extends to gifted and talented learners, multilingual students, and athletes, ensuring holistic development and preparing students for both academic and personal success. Looking ahead, Katy aspires to author a book and provide consulting services, sharing her insights and experience with educators and organizations seeking to cultivate effective leadership and innovative educational practices.

Outside of her professional achievements, Katy is an avid runner and has completed multiple marathons, with a goal of running a half-marathon in every U.S. state. She is passionate about travel, exploring historical sites, beaches, and mountain ranges, and actively contributes to the community as a swim coach and volunteer. Katy holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lamar University and a Master’s in English Language and Literature from The University of Texas Permian Basin. Her enduring dedication to education, leadership, and personal growth continues to inspire students, colleagues, and communities, making her a transformative force in the field of education.
