Her Interview

Ten minutes with Katy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to staying curious. I’ve always been someone who asks questions and wants to understand the “why” behind everything—whether it’s a business decision, a process, or what motivates people. Curiosity has helped me learn faster, build stronger relationships, solve problems more effectively, and uncover opportunities that others might overlook. I believe that when you stop being curious, you stop growing.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I’ve always carried the mindset of being a student first. No matter my title or experience, I never want to be the smartest person in the room—I want to be the one asking questions, listening, and learning. That curiosity has opened more doors than any single credential ever could.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be yourself, speak your truth, and don’t be afraid to let your authentic voice be heard. You can’t fake authenticity—people can tell when someone is performing versus being real. I’ve found that trust is built when people see the person behind the title. The more genuine you are, the more meaningful your connections become, and the more confidence others have in following your lead.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

At the core of who I am are seven values that guide both my work and my life: authenticity, curiosity, connection, growth, excellence, trust, and purpose.

I believe in showing up as my authentic self, asking thoughtful questions, and leading with empathy. I’m driven by understanding the “why” behind people and business decisions, and I find the greatest fulfillment in creating meaningful connections that inspire action. I hold myself to a high standard, not for perfection, but because I care deeply about delivering work that makes a lasting impact. Above all, I strive to build trust through consistency, transparency, and genuine relationships, while ensuring that everything I do serves a purpose greater than simply checking a box.
