About Kavya
As an international student from India, I completed my Master's in Information Technology Management at Webster University. My education and professional journey has been focused on building a strong foundation in data and business processing. I developed skills in tools like Excel and Python, which are basic skills everyone must learn nowadays, along with understanding data handling and problem solving. I have three and a half years of experience in this industry where I work with data and support business operations. Through hands-on experience, I've improved my analytical and communication skills over time. In my daily life, I handle a variety of responsibilities including working with data, updating meetings, maintaining records, and ensuring everything is accurate. I analyze information to identify issues, trends, or support decision-making. I collaborate with my team members and respond to requests, making sure tasks are complete on time. I continue to learn and grow, taking more responsibilities and becoming more confident in delivering insights and supporting decision-making.

01What do you attribute your success to?
A lot of my success comes from staying consistent and being willing to put in the effort to improve every day. I focus on doing my work with accuracy and taking ownership of my responsibilities, which has really helped me to grow.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the best career advice I have received is to always stay curious and keep learning. It helped me to grow my skills and adapt to new challenges if I'm changing into any other roles or anything, so I can continue to improve in my role.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to be confident in yourself and never hesitate to ask questions and share your ideas. When I started my career, I'm not native here, so I felt like I wasn't confident to speak anything. Sometimes they won't understand my accent and everything, so I felt hesitant to speak with people. But when I started my career, I realized that if they don't understand, we can ask one more time, we can explain in other ways. So I can say, never hesitate to talk with anybody. Keep learning, build your skills, and don't be afraid to take on any new challenges or anything that comes in your way. These are the things I can suggest to anybody starting a new journey in new industries.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my industry right now is the growing use of data and analytics to drive business decisions. Whenever you're taking decisions, you have to make sure to understand the requirement and everything. There is a lot of opportunity to learn new tools and work with advanced technologies and make a real impact. The challenge is keeping up with how quickly tools and technologies are evolving. It requires continuous learning and adaptability. I'm in this industry only three and a half years, so I'm still learning new tools and everything. Also, managing large volumes of data to ensure accuracy and clear communication with the stakeholders are challenges I'm facing every day, but still, I'm learning.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are continuous learning. I focus on being reliable and detail-oriented and delivering accurate results in my role. In my personal life, I value honesty. Maintaining a positive and balanced mindset is important, because only then can we grow in any kind of jobs or anywhere.
