Her Story

About Kayla

Kayla Bianco is a licensed real estate professional based in Middleville, Michigan, where she serves buyers and sellers across West Michigan as a REALTOR® with Greenridge Realty. She earned her license in April, fulfilling an ambition she first formed at age 18, and now focuses on mobile home sales within the Thornapple Kellogg School District and surrounding communities. Her days are spent nurturing her sphere of influence, reaching out to prospective clients, distributing marketing materials, and preparing market analyses for homeowners. Shaped by her own good and bad experiences with agents, she strives to keep every client informed, respected, and supported. Alongside real estate, she runs Vibe and Voyage Travel Company as a subcontracted agent through IntelliTravel, helping friends and family find affordable travel.

Her path to real estate began in retail sales at Radio Shack in 2012 and grew through roles at Pepsi, in wine sales, and in merchandising and brand promotion. At Advantage Solutions, she ranked among the top ten merchandisers nationwide out of more than 1,500 representatives, and her success in wine sales earned her a trip to Italy. Never one to follow a conventional route, she has built her expertise through hands-on experience and by earning licenses in insurance, wine sales, bug inspection, and engine operation, alongside her real estate credential.

Bianco supports causes including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Girl Scouts, veterans' breakfasts, and the Puppies and Pitbull Alliance in Grand Rapids. She holds memberships in the National Association of REALTORS® and the Greater Regional Alliance of REALTORS®. Having navigated significant personal and professional obstacles, including racism in a small, conservative community, she draws on those experiences to advocate for fairness and inclusion. She encourages women entering male-dominated industries to know their worth, discuss compensation openly, and speak up for themselves, and she is committed to helping clients pursue homeownership with confidence and integrity.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kayla

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to enter this field with their eyes open, aware that it has long been male-dominated. Never give up, always stand your ground, and know your worth. Speak openly about salary, because doing so is legal and pay disparities persist largely because people are discouraged from discussing it. Finally, read your employee handbook so you understand your rights and protections.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

As a Bi-Racial (Black and White) woman working in a small, conservative community where racism is still active, I face uncomfortable looks and comments from locals. I also have to teach my daughter about these realities while raising her in a way that runs counter to prevailing community views.
