Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kayla

01What do you attribute your success to?

I go to therapy every other week. I don't take life too seriously. I still play video games with my kids and my husband and prioritize our joy more than societal norms. My motivation is helping people and proving those who underestimate me wrong. Kindness is free and you don't know how many people need it.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Prepare yourself for separating your personal life from your work life. HR doesn't get to have friends in the same way. Hold on to your morals and ethics even when challenged to deviate from them. Find a therapist.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

This is a great time for people to bring more creativity into job searching in a strategic way. It's a time for neurodivergent folks to be more proud of their differences because in a world where AI is used for creativity, it takes someone who sees the world differently to come up with true brilliance.
