About Kayla
Kayla Stokes serves as Chargeback Finance with AR at Monster Energy, an energy drink company, where she manages the customer side of corporate accounting for B2B operations. Her responsibilities include researching invoice shortages and discrepancies, handling customer disputes through auditing and collections billing, and directly communicating with clients such as Amazon to resolve pricing or payment issues. With over six years in the accounting field, Kayla began gaining practical experience part-time in high school by assisting her mother, who ran a consulting business handling full-scale accounting for multiple clients. She entered the corporate environment at Monster Energy without a degree, demonstrating strong professionalism and rapid learning that led to her retention after a six-month probation period. Kayla is currently completing her Bachelor's in the Science of Accounting at Western Governor University, with an expected graduation in February 2027, after which she plans to pursue her CMA certification through the Institute of Management Accountants. Her long-term vision includes transitioning to the corporate accounting side, potentially obtaining CPA credentials, and ultimately establishing her own CPA firm. Kayla values continuous learning to stay current with changing laws and emphasizes networking by collaborating across teams such as customer service, operations, and warehouse.
